Profile

Profile

“The biggest risk is the one you don’t take” – this is the mantra that Christine Kathurima lives
by. Born in Kenya, after high school she found her joy in the United States serving as President
of the International Student Association and President African Student Association at Georgia
State University.

She lived in the US for 14 years working in administration roles that included
professional training and service excellence. She has been involved in community enrichment
work her entire life, serving at United Way of Atlanta and most notably, the American Cancer
Society. She was on the board of Fugees Family in Atlanta, a refugee organization featured in
the New York Times and CNN whose mission is helping child survivors of war rebuild their
lives through soccer education.

She believes that the African continent is a haven for talent, and that the investment we make
in our children today and the policies we lay down today, will strongly correlate to the level of
advancement and technological prosperity we will see tomorrow.
cultural exchanges serve to enrich us, to widen our horizons and to close the cultural divide
that exists due to ignorance.

In South Korea, she served at Chungnam Samsung Academy, CNSA on the founding team of
the prestigious boarding school. Prior to which she taught corporate communication skills at
LG Display, LG Electronics, Samsung SDS and Samsung Electronics. Due to her interest in
written communication, she served as a cultural ambassador for the continent in her role as
a media personality – a reporter and writer for “Africa Now”, “Eyes on Korea” and “Drive Time”
on TBS eFM. She also co-hosted, “The Buzz” on Arirang radio. She and her husband were
active in their church and Kenyan community, serving on the Board of KNU International
church. She served on the Board of the Kenyan Community in Korea (KCK) as Deputy
Secretary General and as Assistant Editor of their quarterly newsletter.

Christine currently serves as the founding School Leader at one of Africa’s bold, leading Pan
African private schools, Nova Pioneer – developing innovators and leaders. It is her desire to
develop Africa’s global citizens by teaching them the values that will inspire them to
become difference makers in the fields they find themselves in.
